• Artist Alley at Big Lick Comic Con welcomes exhibitors showcasing original artwork as well as fan art and fan crafts inspired by comics, anime, manga, and pop culture series. We define “fan art and fan crafts” as original creations based on licensed, copyrighted characters and materials. Artist exhibitor spaces are for those selling sketches, paintings, commissions or prints as done by the person at the exhibitor space.
• Reproducing official artwork is strictly prohibited. You may not sell items featuring official poster art, key art, screenshots, logos, or any materials you did not create yourself. This includes but is not limited to buttons, pins, bags, keychains, and prints featuring official artwork.
• Mass-produced fan art and fan crafts are not permitted. While artists are allowed to sell items like buttons, pins, bookmarks, keychains, and apparel, they must be produced in limited quantities. Mass production may be considered bootleg merchandise and is subject to removal.
• Selling artwork that copies or modifies another artist’s work is not allowed. This includes reproducing art from sites like DeviantArt, tracing, copying, or applying Photoshop filters to someone else’s work. Altering or modifying an existing piece does not make it an original creation.
Big Lick Comic Con does not permit or condone the sale of bootleg or unauthorized merchandise at the show. The sale and/or display of ANY merchandise shall ONLY BE ALLOWED, where the merchandise has been approved by the license holder for the property depicted and does not infringe on copyright or trademark laws. Merchandise including but not limited to: video, digital, DVD’s, CD’s, and artist’s renderings in any form or format, must not violate the rights of the rights- holder to the property.
By attending the Con as an Exhibitor, or by purchasing a table space as an artist, you are agreeing to follow these guidelines and any violation may result in immediate expulsion from the convention without refund. Our event works with law enforcement authorities, licensees, and rights holders to act against the sale of bootleg and unauthorized merchandise at this event.
Failure to comply may additionally be subject to prosecution by local, provincial, and federal authorities who will be given full access to this event.
Bootlegging is described as the taking of established published artwork and or digital media and reproducing product for sale that is not owned.
Big Lick Comic Con does not support the use of AI art. People make art, not programs.
